CAD Design Intern

About the role

What you will do

• Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, mechanical components, assemblies, and product layouts using SolidWorks.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and standard fits to ensure accurate engineering drawings.
• Support 3D printing and prototyping, including STL file preparation and print feasibility checks.
• Select materials based on strength, cost, and manufacturability, and perform basic engineering calculations and feasibility studies.
• Maintain design documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision control, and organized project files.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve designs, resolve technical issues, and maintain design standards.
• Manage engineering data, records, and basic data analysis using MS Excel.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0–0.5 years of experience; fresh graduates preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, including part modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, drafting standards, manufacturing processes, and drawing interpretation.
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerances, fits, detail drawings, and materials used in mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data management and reporting, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of additive manufacturing, 3D printing workflows, and rapid prototyping.
• Ability to apply mechanical design concepts, material selection, and manufacturing principles to practical projects.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work under guidance in a fast-paced engineering environment; only passed-out candidates are eligible.
