CAD Engineer

About the role

What you will do

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and standard fits to ensure dimensional accuracy and design compliance.
• Support concept development, design reviews, and iterative improvements based on project requirements.
• Assist in prototype development, validation, and 3D printing to verify design functionality.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and design checks, and select materials based on strength, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Prepare and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and design revision records.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design feasibility while following engineering standards, documentation practices, and quality procedures.

What we are looking for

• Proficiency in SolidWorks for part modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, drafting standards, and drawing interpretation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, fits, and dimensional accuracy.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing methods, and basic 3D printing processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, prototyping, or mechanical design projects.
• Ability to apply material selection and manufacturing principles to practical design challenges.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation, data handling, and technical reporting.
