Junior Design Engineer

About the role

What you will do

• Develop 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings of FPV drone frames and mechanical components using SolidWorks.
• Design and optimize FPV drone structures for weight, strength, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Select suitable materials, manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and assembly techniques for cost-effective designs.
• Support prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing while implementing design iterations to improve product performance.
• Identify design and manufacturing issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement engineering solutions to enhance reliability.
• Coordinate with electrical, avionics, procurement, production, and testing teams to ensure seamless component integration and project execution.
• Maintain engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation while tracking design changes and ensuring timely delivery.

What we are looking for

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D modelling, assemblies, engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOM creation.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques.
• Understanding of structural analysis, FEA, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with FPV drones, UAVs, RC aircraft, or academic projects involving drones, robotics, or mechanical design.
• Basic knowledge of FEA/structural analysis, 3D printing, and rapid prototyping.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and PLM/PDM or ERP tools.
