Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

What you will do

• Develop mechanical system concepts and conduct trade-off studies for weight, strength, cost, manufacturability, and integration.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for UAV structures, landing gear, transmission, and payload mounting systems.
• Support prototyping, fabrication, assembly, design iterations, and coordination with manufacturing teams and vendors.
• Perform engineering calculations, FEA simulations, and structural, vibration, fatigue, and mechanical performance testing.
• Coordinate with avionics, electronics, propulsion, and software teams to resolve mechanical integration and packaging challenges.
• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, test reports, and design documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Optimize weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability while supporting root-cause analysis, production readiness, and timely project delivery.

What we are looking for

• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of machine design, mechanisms, GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite structures.
• Familiarity with FEA tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, Abaqus, or similar.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical problem-solving.
• Experience in UAV, drone, helicopter, or aerospace product development.
• Basic understanding of Variable Pitch Rotor systems, Rotor Mechanics and Rotorcraft Aerodynamics , Flight Controls and Actuation Systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with composites, lightweight structures, and aerospace-grade materials.
• Exposure to environmental and vibration qualification testing
